Tyldesley Model Flying Club offers tuition to novice R/C pilots in accordance with its structured training scheme, culminating in nationally recognised certifications under the auspices of the British Model Flying Association.
Building and flying radio controlled models can be a very rewarding and very social hobby for all ages. It is not however, easy. If you think it might be for you then we would encourage you to contact the club and make an arrangement to visit us before you spend any money on equipment. The club can assess and advise you on all aspects of R/C flight and we welcome the opportunity to save you anguish and money by offering good advice, free.
The clubs structured scheme is administered by the clubs registered and approved instructors and your progression through it largely depends on your age, ability and attendance at our flying sessions.
Because of the need to fly under the supervision of an instructor until certified, the club cannot guarantee to offer training on every flying day. You will however be given the contact details of the clubs instructors and are encouraged to buddy up to arrange your training sessions.
If you already hold a level of national flying certification or are an experienced flier, then an assessment of your ability will be taken by the clubs registered Examiners. This may see you undergoing a short period of familiarisation under an instructors guidance while you get used to our flying site or may see you asked to take on board some instruction until our minimum solo flying standards are met.
