New Website - Now Live

Members

As you can see, our new club website is now live and upon it you will find many new things.

The update coincides with our transition to the new field so you will find notices appertaining to such. Also there is a new events calendar which will already occupy you more than your partner will appreciate and we still have stuff like the club comps to add!

Please take time to have a good look around here. If you find any errors or is something does not work as expected, please feed that back to me.

You will spot a members area. You will soon be provided with personal log on details to access this. It will make downloads and minutes available but it will also let you tell us if you plan on flying on any given day.

New galleries will be uploaded soon, but it is hoped that this will now become your first point of reference for updates on club activities.

Keep an eye on it.

New Flying Site is Good To Go!!

The club has now paid rent to secure the use of the new flying site and it is open for business to all paid up members. Novices should secure the supervision of an Instructor in accordance with club rules.

As discussed at the January club meeting, while there are no formal restrictions in place, this is a time of learning and the club has opted to self regulate between the hours of 09:00 and 21:00 with no flying outside of these hours and no more than 6 models airborne at any time.

New flying site

The format of the field layout mimics our old site but with backs to the Sun and the crosswind strip at the right hand end not the left. Please park cautiously and use all the available pit area. The tables, Container and Caravan will be migrated soon.

We have obvious concerns over the suitability of the access roads to the site especially through this initial winter period and members are urged to use cautious judgement in driving down the tracks in their vehicles.

The club is seeking to improve this access but at this time if you get your vehicle stuck, there is no help available to retrieve you. Please err on the side of caution.

Any complaints about our activities from outside parties should be calmly dealt with by the member approached in the first instance before referring any persistent complainers to the club Chairman.

Andy Ellison
